FAQ
-
When and where is this event happening? The event is happening at the Mitchell Activity Center (Seattle Central College campus) in Capitol Hill on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10 am - 4 pm. The address is 1718 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122.
-
Does it cost money to attend? No! A Very Queer Health Fair is free and available to all members of the LGBTQ+ community, but we do ask that you register for a free ticket on our eventbrite website! *Special note: there will be a pop-up market with LGBTQ+ artists, so if you'd like to support them directly by donating to them for any of their art, goods, or services, make sure to bring cash or venmo for that!
-
Who is behind this event? This entire event is student led. LGBTQTSIA+ healthcare students from UW have been working tirelessly in their "free" time between classes, clinic, and work to put this event on for no reason other than to connect with their community. None of the organizers are getting paid, school credit, or any other incentive than simply to give back and be the change they want to see.
-
Will there be food and drinks at the event? We are working to get an LGBTQ+ owned food truck to come be available to purchase food from. If not, we are in the heart of Capitol Hill so there will be food within walking distance to purchase!
-
Does this event have accessibility accomodations? The event will be held in the Mitchell Activity Center on the first level. There are no stairs at the entrance or in the inside. Exterior doors are greater than 36" wide with automatic push buttons. We will be using two rooms for the event inside and the Interior doors are 34" and 70" wide. All gender bathrooms are available on the first floor with accessible stalls. In order for beloved community members with chemical injury to attend, please don't use scented products (commercial detergents, shampoo, soap, perfume). For reasons and suggestions on how to do this, please check out this site: https://eastbaymeditation.org/resources/fragrance-free-at-ebmc/. Please be aware that the space is public and we will not be able to control all traffic coming in and out of the event. If you have any accessibility questions or needs, please email at: veryqueerhealthfair@gmail.com
-

-
Will there be all gender bathrooms available?Yes -- the main accessible bathrooms located on the 1st floor (floor of the event) will be designated as all-gender.
